The Mid-term Symposium of ISPRS Technical Commission VII “Thematic Processing, Modelling and Analysis of Remotely Sensed Data” took place in Istanbul, Turkey on 29 September & 2 October 2014 and was held at Istanbul Technical University. The overall purpose of the symposium was to bring together researchers, scientists and practitioners from all over the world, interested in the advances of remote sensing, computer vision, image analysis and related fields.
The symposium aimed to be a platform for sharing the results of research and development efforts In that direction IASON consortium members from Romania, launched a tutorial for young scientist and transferred practical exercises on authoring the Earth Science content based on the Virtual Meeting Place developed for the IASON project, and the eGLE and GreenLand platforms developed in both national and international remote sensing applications and helped in pinpointing worldwide advances in remote sensing theory, research, experiments, applications, and technology.
IASON coordinator Prof Patias of AUTH and Prof Altan of EKINOKS presented elements of the project and disseminated project results. Moreover a paper presenting IASON results was submitted at the proceedings of the Symposium and can be downloaded from the project website.
