Venue: Radisson Blu Hotel, Batumi, Georgia
Dates: October 30-31, 2014
The Workshop and Caravan Events in Georgia of 30-31 October 2014 are collocated with EC FP7 IASON Consortium Meeting in Batumi, October 29, 2014 and Cross Border Cooperation ILMM-BSE Project Meeting in Georgia, November 01, 2014, and are organized in synergy by these two European funded regional research and coordination projects.
The workshop devoted to the Black Sea Catchment will have a twofold objective, targeting traditional users and local policy makers: Day 1 of the workshop will be devoted to capacity building along the thematic nodes, and Day 2 will be devoted to promoting integration of national administration into existing Research & Innovation results. The workshop during the second day will be entitled “Policy Interactions and research outputs” and will target regional policy makers, researchers, and stakeholders along with EU officials that will help local stakeholders to be informed on current European needs and trends in the three action fields. Through this workshop, IASON project will attempt to capture the need to bring the scientific communities and programmes closer to each other with regard to the three specific challenges.
Specifically, the two day IASON Workshop 2 and Caravan Events in Georgia will include the Training Workshop on October 30 (Day 1), dealing with capacity building in hydrological modelling, data dissemination and discovery tools for the Black Sea Catchment, as well as the special policy session devoted to International Black Sea Day of October 31 (Day 2), both with participation and presentations of local, national and international stakeholders involved in various European projects (such as IASON and ILMM-BSE) and other projects in river basin and catchment management.
