The second IASON project meeting took place in Novi Sad Serbia the 18th of September 2013 and was hosted by the University of Novi Sad within the framework of the Balkan Geo Net final event. The first part of the meeting was held on Wednesday,
September 18, 2013 and a number of presentations were held by the project partners regarding all important elements of the project. More specifically CNR & ISPRA presented progress on Existing Thematic Networks and on-going Research Efforts in MED & BS, CIMA presented elements of the Stakeholders Database and various presentations were made on issues of dissemination and IASON future events (Workshop ME D & Workshop BS).
The evening of September 18 was dedicated to the IASON & EOPOWE R projects joint technical meeting. Within the framework of the joint activities foreseen between the 2 projects, the Technical framework for EOPOWE R Resource facility as well as the Permanent Network Facility developed within the BalkanGEONET and the SRC PAS EOPOWE R PORTAL were presented. Finally, Premysl Stych, from the Charles University in Prague, presented Benefits of EO data and methods in the nature conservation. The second part of the meeting devoted to WP 5 issues was held on Friday, September 20, 2013. During the meeting WP 5 objectives, tasks & related deliverables were discussed and the proposed methodology was presented by CIMA, UNIGE & CNR-IIA for discussion and refinement.
